Bottom Roll Clamping Cylinders - Clamp (Extend)

Event: Bottom Roll Clamping Cylinders - Clamp (Extend)

For previous steps in this sequence see the event “HPU – On.”

1)    The pressure of the hydraulic fluid supplied to this circuit is reduced by Pressure Reducing-Relieving Valve Module 282. The reduced-pressure fluid then flows through Directional Control Valve 304.09 which is energized to the parallel flow pattern allowing fluid to pass through the valve from P to A.

2)    Next, the fluid flows freely through the A-port check valve of Flow Control Valve Module 179.33 then into the cap ends of Bottom Roll Clamping Cylinders 814.01 (Drive Side) and 814.02 (Operator Side) causing the cylinders to extend to the clamped position.

3)    Exhaust fluid flows from the rod ends of the cylinders through the flow control valve module where the fluid is forced by the B-port check valve to flow through the B-port needle valve, thereby achieving meter-out speed control of the extension rate of the cylinders.

4)    Finally, the exhaust fluid flows through the directional control valve, passing from B to T, then back to tank through Duplex Return Line Filter 045.03.
